Mr. Suhr was born and raised in Pusan. While growing up, his parents continually stressed the value and importance of education.

After graduating from high school, he was accepted to the Seoul National University College of Law, which is arguably the most prestigious department of the most prestigious university in Korea. He obtained both a baccalaureate and master's degree from Seoul National University.

He passed the Korean lawyer's exam in 1986. Upon completion of his mandatory training at the Judicial Research & Training Institute, he joined Korea's top law firm, Kim & Chang.

Five years later, Mr. Suhr made the decision to venture off on his own and hang his shingle back in his hometown of Pusan. Prior to doing so, he made a stopover at Cornell University in New York to earn his LLM and pass the New York State Bar Exam.

After opening his office in Pusan, Mr. Suhr established himself as the foremost authority on maritime and admiralty law not only in Pusan, but anywhere outside of Seoul. He has also become a well-known authority on corporate law related issues.
In 1996, his office merged with another prominent law office to become Pusan Pacific Law Office. He currently serves on the boards of several major companies and as an independent auditor for several other companies. He is an adjunct professor at Dong-Ah University College of Law and an arbitrator for the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board. It is notable that he has been serving as the Honorary Danish Consul for Pusan since 1999.

When not at work, Mr. Suhr enjoys active recreation such as hiking with his family, swimming, and other athletic endeavors.
